What does CSM teach?

What math credit does CSM earn?

What's the CSM course like?
- Helped 1000’s of students who struggled in math in school
- Designed for people who don’t like math
- Work at your own pace, at your own best times
- Take as long as you need – CSM is very patient
- Starts at your level – CSM provides help, if needed, to basic math
- It's focus is helping you learn how to learn on your own and to build confidence
- You learn the skills on your own, and your coach will help you learn how to learn independently (in the "world of work", you have to do this everyday)
- CSM makes sure you really konw the material -- this build confidence, and makes sure that you'll be able to ace the next lessons, too
Back of the CSM Certificate
On completing CSM, in addition to the college credit you earn, you will recieve a Credly digital badge that can go on your resume or your social media profile, and you'll receive a CSM Certificate -- not of college math, but rather the High Performance skills that you have developed:
- college-level quantitative reasoning
- informational literacy
- problem-solving mindsets and strategies
- learning agility
- drive to excel, supported by attention to detail and persistence
- deep, earned self-confidence
These are the skills that will help thorughout your life -- whether in college, work, or life -- and are the skills that employers value most highly. This is a certificate that you can show potential employers to show that you've got skills that they care about.
Survey from the CSM Summer Program
In summer 2026, Excel Together NM ran a summer program for high school students funded by Sandia National Labs. The participants were a range of "ordinary" students -- some advanced, some struggling, some in-between. Here were the results of the survey on completing CSM showing the percent who agree with the following statements:
- I enjoyed working on CSM: 88%
- I learned a lot from CSM: 100%

- I feel better about my math skills: 100%
- The skills I learned on CSM are important: 100%
