What does CSM teach?

  • Practical math that also gets college credit
  • How to learn on your own, persistence, and attention to detail
  • Prep for GED / high school equivalency math
  • Prep for the math for entrance exams for nursing (HESI/TEAS), the military (ASVAB), and more
  • Prep for the math portion of the PRAXIS exam for teaching
  • Real-world skills for school, college, work and life

What math credit does CSM earn?

  • Math 1130 at Central New Mexico CC (CNM) -- and other colleges soon!
  • This is the only required math for a degree for 70% of students
  • Start college with your math in the rearview mirror

What's the CSM course like?

  • It's 20-70 hours for most people
  • Helped 1000’s of students who struggled in math in school
  • Designed for people who don’t like math
  • Work at your own pace, at your own best times
  • Take as long as you need – CSM is very patient
  • Starts  at your level – CSM provides help, if needed, to basic math
  • It's focus is helping you learn how to learn on your own and to build confidence
  • CSM makes sure you really understand the material -- this builds confidence, and makes sure that you'll be able to ace the next lessons, too
  • In a national evaluation against the top self-paced, online math courses, CSM had the largest math gains and highest sutdent engagement

Who's the CSM course for?

Jon with his college diploma and his CSM  Certificate
  • Those studying for a GED
  • Those wanting to go to college for the first time
  • Those who stopped out of college because of math
  • Those who have a college degree and want a higher one, but they've been out of college for 20 years old want to rebuild skills
  • Those who want to enter the military, but want a position that builds technical skills for a career rather than a frontline position
  • Those who couldn't pass the math portion of the PRAXIS exam for the teaching profession, and want to get back in
  • Those who want to change careers, but don't have good enough math for advanced technical training programs

The picture is of Jon, who was one math course away from his associate degree for more than a year. After taking CSM, there he is receiving his college diploma and CSM Certificate. He is now a para-profesional working with special needs students in a high school.

Back of the CSM Certificate

On completing CSM, in addition to the college credit you earn, you will recieve a Credly digital badge that can go on your resume or your social media profile. You'll also receive a CSM Certificate -- not just of college math, but rather the High Performance skills that you have developed:

  • college-level quantitative reasoning
  • informational literacy
  • problem-solving mindsets and strategies
  • learning agility
  • drive to excel, supported by attention to detail and persistence
  • deep, earned self-confidence

These are the skills that will help thorughout your life -- whether in college, work, or life -- and are the skills that employers value most highly. This is a certificate that you can show potential employers to show that you've got skills that they care about.

These are skills that you can be proud of!
